About

We support children and adults to feel confident moving their bodies in creative ways. We do this through good tunes, storytelling, games, activating our imagination, a sprinkling of silliness and a whole lot of fun!

When we dance with others, we release happy hormones.  Not only does that help us feel good, but dancing together also creates a sense of connectedness, in turn helping to create better relationships and a feeling of belonging.

As a bonus, dancing also develops physical coordination, memory, creativity, social skills, language, maths concepts and more! A great opportunity for embodied learning.

Vision

We believe that everyone was born to dance, but sometimes we are told that we can't, either by someone else or by our own inner critic.

Our vision is to inspire adults to move and groove alongside the kids in their care so that from an early age, children know that they can!

We believe that dancing is for everyone, every gender, shape, size, ability and nationality. At Bubs n Beats, we strive to break down barriers of notions around ‘who can dance’ and ‘how we dance’ at an early age, and challenge any preconceived ideas held by us grown ups.

We believe that if more people dance, the more joy, well being and connectedness there will be in our classrooms, homes and ultimately the world.

Frankie has shared her love for stories with children across a variety of settings including at The State Library of Queensland with First Five Forever Programming (2014-2023) and The Corner Programming (2008-2023) and was the winner of Storybox Library Storyteller of the year award (2021-2022), Artist in residence- Imaginary Theatre’s Powerkids (Brisbane Powerhouse 2017), Primary schools- Drama and Art teacher at New Farm Primary School (2018-2019), and most recently as an Actor/Teacher at Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre where she facilitates children’s connection with nature through story, song and dance (2022 - present).

As well as working with children and families, Frankie fills her own cup by performing with Inclusive Dance Company Bring a Plate, bringing the joy of dance to unexpected places in the form of Flash Mobs. She is also an actor improviser, performing in Comedy Improv shows with Big Fork and honouring real life stories from the community with Red Thread Stories in a theatrical form called Playback Theatre.

As founder and director of Bubs n Beats, she’s excited to have the opportunity to share her love of dance with a sprinkling of theatre with children, families, teachers and librarians across Australia.
